Iceland on Microsoft's top 3 list

Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, President of Iceland, has confirmed that Microsoft Corporation has narrowed its options for Data Center location from nine to three, and Iceland is one of the final runners.

Earlier this year Mr. Ólafur met with Microsoft’s CEO, Bill Gates, where the merits of Iceland’s clean energy and natural cooling were discussed.  The result of the discussion was Iceland’s place as one of the final nine contenders as the next Microsoft Data Center location.

PricewaterhouseCoopers recently conducted a benchmarking study on Iceland compared to USA, UK and India. The study showed that Iceland can offer excellent quality at a very low cost and was quoted to be “Best in Class”
